mx currently has the ability to link to Morphbank images. This page is for further discussion (= brainstorming) on the creation of an API for Morphbank, that mx (and possibly other software), could use. There is interest from both parties in making this work. These are just rough ideas, summarized from various parties, at present.
Goals (in increasing difficulty)
Given the existing setup in mx have MB also additionally provide existing meta data for the image
Browse a list of images in mx, that are provided from a simple search to MB, such that those images can be added to an mx project
Export from mx directly/indirectly to MB
Continue to log images in mx, but allow the user to dump to a nice friendly format that MB scoops.
Create an image in mx, but send the data to MB
This should be the ultimate goal. I.e. it should appear that the user is creating a record in mx as presently done, but core data should be sent to MB.
