Overview

Images can be attached to any record with a unique id in mx through figures. A single image can be used as many times as you want for as many different records as you want. For instance a single image can illustrate multiple character states, be linked to text in a description, and illustrate a collecting event.

InputDraw

Figures can be further annotated by freehand drawing on them, for example outlining the characters of interest. After you add a figure (and possibly caption) and close the add popup the listed figures will have a 'draw' link on them. At present only images that are directly loaded into mx can be annotated in this way, though this is strictly a limitation of the way Morphbank exposes their data, and will be resolved very shortly.

Troubleshooting

InputDraw not showing up in Firefox

If you click on the draw link on your figures and InputDraw is not working correctly it may be that Quicktime is trying to play the movie. To fix it so Flash movies play in the browser follow these steps:

1. Close Mozilla (or Firefox)
2. Open the QuickTime preferences control panel
3. Select Advanced tab
5. Make sure "Enable Flash" is not selected. May be in the MIME Settings.
6. Click OK, and close the QuickTime Control Panel
7. Remove the file pluginreg.dat from your Profile Folder. This file will be recreated next time you start Mozilla
